In November 2004 the voters of the State of Oklahoma passed a constitutional ammendment to allow class 2 gaming, non-house banked card games and certain other types of gaming on designated Indian land within the state. Many tribes have taken advantage of this and are now operating legal gaming machines all over Oklahoma. This directory is an attempt to sort out the numerous tribal casinos, bingo halls, off-track betting facilites, and other Indian gaming opportunities in Oklahoma. Along with the casino directory is a directory of tribal office locations and phone numbers. See the complete listing below.

Oklahoma has numerous federally recognized Indian Entities, normally called tribes or nations. These Native American groups have established their own tribal governments and laws. An incredibly rich and diverse heritage of Native American people can be found by visiting the Indian Tribes and their casinos in the State of Oklahoma. Their influence on the state has been enormous. Many state cities and counties are named after tribes, such as Seminole, Okmulgee, Quapah, Muskogee, Miami, etc.

The tribes in Oklahoma can trace their roots back thousands of years to other areas of the United States. The Indian removals of the 1800's saw a huge number of Native Americans sent to Oklahoma from all areas of the country, especially the north and east. Visitors to this website are encouraged to research their own genealogy and background to see if they can claim blood relation to one of the hundreds of Indian Tribes within the US. Becoming a tribal member is one of the greatest honors any American can experience.

Following is an alphabetical listing of the 38 federally recognized Indian Entities in Oklahoma. The names of each group are the names officially recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and are the actual names of the Nation, Tribe, Band or Town. Click on each tribal name to go to their directory listing and more information.

An "*" after the name means a tribe with a casino featuring class II gaming and/or offtrack betting.
